World Book Day 2020
On 5th March it was World Book Day. Most of us came to school dressed up as our favourite book character. During the day we listened to different stories which were read by other teachers, we looked at each other’s favourite books and we completed other activities to do with books. At the end of the day we had an assembly and prizes were given for the best dressed up characters.
On Thursday 13th February we held a Discovery Day. Each Key Stage were given a story which took then on a journey about a country. EYFS and KS1 encountered Mexico, KS2 visited Tanzania, KS3 journeyed through China and KS4 and FE went to Egypt. Each class took part in activities that reflected elements of geography, history and modern foreign languages - all pupils certainly had a busy day and learnt lots about their countries they 'discovered'!
Pupils wore their Christmas jumpers to school on Christmas dinner day, the whole school ate their lunch together wearing their Christmas hats and were served by members of staff and school governors.
Pupil and Parent Christmas activities and Christmas sing song
Parent's were invited into school to join their children in completing Christmas activities. Bauble decorations were made in KS4,
Later in the afternoon, we all joined together in the school hall to sing carols.
Duke of Edinburgh Award - Children in Need
This was the final event organised by the Bronze DofE teams. The whole school dressed in yellow for the day and Secondary took part in the BBC Duck Race event and Primary had to guess the name of Pudsey's cousin. It was great fun and all the pupils enjoyed raising money for such a good cause.
Duke of Edinburgh Award - Volunteering section
The second event organised by the Bronze DofE teams was raising money for Breast Cancer Research - Pink Day. The volunteers arranged activites for all the classes to take part in and helped the pupils to complete their games, tasks or challenges!

Red White and Blue Day 2019
Red White and Blue day was the anniversary of the D-Day landings and a celebration of the work of all the armed forces. Pupils took part in Red White and Blue activities all day.
Money was donated to ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity and The RAF Benevolent Fund. These three national charities are responsible for the welfare of soldiers, sailors and airmen and their families.
