Pupils in school completed activities inside and outside the classroom. Orange Week - We have explored orange slices frozen in ice. We used our hands and tools to try and find ways to melt the ice. It was nice and refreshing on a hot day! We used different orange materials to make a collage of a goldfish.
Pupils had fun at home by accessing the home learning activities on our website and the Activity Channel on our Evidence for Learning App.
This Spring half term, we learned about Things That Move, and transport. We explored the small world cars, making ramps and rolling them through tubes, discovering things that roll and don’t roll. We borrowed a big car and train for role play, using the train in the sensory story ‘The Little Red Train’. We found out about flying through flying paper aeroplanes, exploring balloons, and making and flying our own kites outside.
In the Autumn term, we learnt all about things ‘Down on the Farm’. We found out about creatures from spiders, to chickens, to cows, and enjoyed learning to sing and sign ‘Old MacDonald Had a Farm’. We explored the sensory story ‘The Little Red Hen’, and especially liked using our senses of touch, smell and taste to explore the bread and flour. We also took part in our first school trip, to the Winter Walk at Keydell Nursery. We saw lots of Christmas scenes throughout the walk, and saw real donkeys, pigs, goats and reindeer at the end.
