School Council

Our School Council

Each September, all children are asked if they would like to stand for the School Council, as their class representative, and nominate themselves. Every class then takes a vote on the nominations for their class. Each class then has one representative on the School Council. A few of our secondary pupils also act as advocates for some classes.

The Council has the support of one of the Lead Teachers and a representative from the Governors. At the first meeting The Council elects a Chairperson and Secretary. Meetings are held regularly, at least half termly where representatives can bring ideas and concerns on whole school issues. These are discussed and ideas put forward to the Senior Management Team and the whole school.

The minutes of each meeting are circulated by the pupils, with feedback given by the representatives at the next meeting.
