Head's Welcome

Hollywater is a Community Special School catering for approximately 160 students, who have complex learning difficulties across the age range from 4 to 19 years. We have a wide range of specialist facilities including a Forest School site, immersive suite, hydro pool and Food Technology room. We have multi agency colleagues such as Physio-therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Music Therapists, Play Therapists, Advisory Teachers for our visually and hearing-impaired students and a school nursing team who visit our students on a regular basis.

At Hollywater School we believe that every child is an individual. They are ‘them’ and are unlike anyone else. As a result of this the goals and aspirations that every child and their family have are also individual. We see each child as their own person and we work hard to understand their individual needs so that they can work towards their goals.

Our vision for our pupils at Hollywater is encapsulated in the words, Inspire. Believe. Achieve.

Inspire: We aim to inspire, motivate and challenge every learner to enable them to discover their potential, develop strong character, and become confident, responsible contributors to a changing world.

Believe: We aim to develop aspirational, independent and resilient learners who believe they can. Our vision is rooted in belief: belief in our students, belief in their abilities, and belief that with the right support, encouragement, and opportunities, every child can flourish.

Achieve: We enable our children to achieve their full potential, that is individual to them. Our vision is for all pupils to achieve through high expectations, personalised support, and a nurturing environment where every success is valued.

At Hollywater we strive to inspire a lifelong love of learning by providing a safe, inclusive, and innovative environment where every student is encouraged to grow academically, socially, and emotionally, and to achieve their fullest potential.
