Hollywater School outreach service provides training, development, support for staff in mainstream schools, within East Hampshire, for them to build upon their existing skills, knowledge and expertise so that they are better equipped to cater for those children and young people with complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
 

Hollywater School Outreach is available to:

Mainstream Primary and Secondary schools with children/young people with SEND or who have an EHC plan. 

Requesting Outreach support:

Schools need to complete the referral form, identifying what support is needed and whether it is for an individual child/young person or whole school support. Once the referral form is completed in full, securely email it to s.kitching@hollywater.hants.sch.uk
 

In making a request, Hollywater School will liaise with the school and an agreement will be drawn up and signed by both schools outlining the type, level, frequency and duration of input. The school must ensure that identified staff participate in the training recommended and provided, and that skills are transferred across staff, especially at times of transition.

Hollywater School Outreach offers :

• bespoke training sessions to address particular needs
• drop-in sessions for discussion and problem-solving
• observations of pupils/cohorts and suggested interventions
• advice on current practice, including sharing concerns, enabling more successful planning for individual pupils/cohorts
• observation and feedback to teachers and support staff
• in-reach visits to special schools for staff to observe lessons and work alongside identified staff on specific issues
• support and advice on differentiation to enable pupils/cohorts to access the curriculum to their full potential
• support with supporting communication needs
• support in drawing up of individual care plans
• identification of appropriate resources
• advice around specialist materials and equipment
• signposting to resources and services available
