Hollywater’s Home School Link Worker is Miss Molly Burchell 

What does a Home School Link Worker do?  

Molly Burchell is available to support children and families to promote wellbeing, improved attendance, behaviour and engagement with learning.  

Molly Burchell works both with children and with their parents and carers, developing strong links between our school, our families and other agencies. She is available to meet with parents and carers to provide support for challenges in and out of school and can signpost to other relevant agencies as needed. Molly Burchell also works with children either one-to-one or in small groups to develop their skills, find their voice and improve self-esteem.

  • Monday 7.30am-4.30pm  
  • Tuesday 9.30am-2.30pm 
  • Wednesday 7.30am-4pm  
  • Friday 9.30am-2.30pm   

How I can help  

  • Provide a safe place for you to discuss your concerns.  
  • Support children in school with 1:1 or group sessions, as appropriate.  
  • Guide you to other sources of help, advice and support.  

Issues I can help with  

  • Children who are finding school difficult, who are anxious or reluctant to come to school.  

  • Parents/carers who are experiencing difficulties managing their child’s emotions and behaviour.  

  • Children who are experiencing difficult times or are withdrawn or anxious 

  • Parents/carers experiencing difficulties with their child’s behaviour 

  • Parents/carers whose children are reluctant to attend school or who have been suspended 

  • Parents/carers who may need support on a wide range of issues or difficulties impacting on their family life e.g. illness, domestic violence, disability, financial difficulties 

  • School Uniform 

  • Making and maintaining links with school 

  • Attending school meetings and appointments with your child 

  • Signposting to other services for support, help and advice 

  • Early Help referrals 

  • Sign-posting to support relating to your child’s ECHP or transport arrangements. 

  • Supporting with routines, hygiene, sleep and toileting
